I don’t know exactly how many years I have been here, but it has been several years. I have had many jobs including working in the bakery. I have made many friends here and the staff are helpful, too! The staff helps us find jobs and teaches us lots of things, like learning to cook. I loved learning how to cook in the bakery. I won’t give up and I will give my best that I can. The Center has helped me with my confidence.

I wasn’t working when I first came here and I didn’t know anyone at Chesapeake Center. It was really easy to make friends and it didn’t take long for me to have a lot of friends! I am able to go places and do a lot of fun things. I used to perform in the talent show and helped paint the basketball court at Idlewild Park. I have volunteered and had paid jobs. I recommend everyone come here because the staff is awesome and I am looking forward to meeting everyone!

When I first came here years ago, I wasn’t at my best.  Staff helped me get the confidence to work. I began answering phones and using the intercom system at the center. Later, I volunteered at the local radio station before becoming a public service announcer. I even helped get the Drifters to come to Easton! The staff has been very helpful to me over the years with having paid work and even volunteering.

I started here when Chesapeake Center first opened, about 50 years ago. My first job here was cleaning and I really enjoyed it! Over the years, I have had many jobs including cables and kits. I, now,  work on cloth.  I help make sure all the cloth is trimmed, stacked and bagged right.  I have made a lot of friends here over the years.  The Chesapeake Center has helped me so much and I don’t know what I would do without this job.
